Fewer than 100 Covid-19 infections and no death in last 24 hours, as tally reaches 271,806 with 99 new infections
This is the third time in the last 10 days that there have been no deaths related to the coronavirus disease.Post Report
The country has recorded 2,035 deaths due to Covid-19 so far. The ministry had reported two deaths due to complications caused by the coronavirus disease on Friday and Thursday .
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country reported 99 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 271,806.
As of Saturday , the active case count stands at 1,959 with Kathmandu leading the number of active infected cases at more than 500.
In the past 24 hours, four new infections were reported in Province 1, two in Province 2, three in Sudurpaschim Province. Karnali did not report any cases.
Similarly, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces reported 78, seven and six cases respectively.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 66 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 48 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 13 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.
As of Saturday , the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 127,091. While Kathmandu has reported 500 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 160 and 115 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 999 individuals from Bagmati Province, 288 from Lumbini Province, 228 from Province 1, 219 from Province 2, 209 from Gandaki Province, 65 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Saturday, 2,091,166 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 2,794 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Until Saturday, 61 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country, 14 others—10 in Bagmati Province, three in Lumbini and one in Karnali Province—were on ventilator support.
