Three injured in Baglung landslide airlifted to Kathmandu

Three people injured in a landslide in Badigad Rural Municipality, Baglung district on Tuesday have been evacuated to Kathmandu.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral, three individuals critically injured in the landslide were airlifted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment through a chopper of the Nepal Army. Other victims sustained less severe injuries and were transported to the primary health centre in Burtibang, he said.
A Nepal Army helicopter was deployed on Tuesday to evacuate the injured. However, inclement weather conditions prevented the aircraft from landing at the landslide site.
Monsoon-triggered floods and landslides continued to batter Nepal on Tuesday, claiming at least 14 lives nationwide. Baglung district in Gandaki Province bore the brunt of the disaster, with eight fatalities, including six children, reported in landslides that struck wards 9 and 10 of Badigad Rural Municipality.
Search for four others missing is underway, police said.
