One dead, three missing in Baglung landslides

A boy died and three others are missing following landslides in Baglung district.
A 15-year-old boy died after being buried by a landslide in ward 9 of Badigad Rural Municipality.
The boy was buried by the landslide while he and other family members were attempting to clear it behind their house.
The police said the boy died at the scene. Rescue teams have arrived and relocated the other family members to safety. Further details about the incident are awaited, according to the police.
Similarly, local Joglal Budha’s wife and two daughters are missing after a landslide buried their house and cattle shed in ward 10 of the rural municipality.
Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral said rescue teams from the Area Police Office Burtibang and nearby police units have been deployed to the area.
Meanwhile, landslides triggered by incessant rainfall have blocked the Kaligandaki Corridor and the Maldhunga-Kushmisera road.
