Police on Monday arrested a 35-year-old man on charge of murdering a youth in ward 13 of Waling Municipality.

Nim Bahadur Gharti Magar was taken into police custody for allegedly murdering his flatmate Ayush Chaudhary, 20, by slitting the victim’s throat with a knife on Sunday night.

Chaudhary died in the course of treatment at the primary health centre, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Indra Bahadur Rana, also the spokesperson at the district police office.

The reason behind the attack is not yet known. Further investigation into the matter is underway, Rana added.
