One man killed in paragliding accident in Pokhara on Monday

One man died and a woman seriously injured in a paragliding accident in Pokhara on Monday.
The 38-year-old pilot was pronounced “dead on arrival” at Metro City Hospital in Srijana Chok in Pokhara. Both the pilot and his passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Budhanilkantha Municipality-2, Kathmandu, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman has sustained serious injuries to her chest and leg and is in critical condition, said police. She is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital.
Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Subash Hamal said, “The incident occurred after the glider aircraft landed some one and a half kilometres away from the landing area in Siran Khapaudi near the Phewa Lake area on Monday afternoon.” According to Hamal, the cause of the accident is unknown.
The deceased was a resident of Kalika in Pokhara-28.
