All Nepal Football Association President Pankaj Bikram Nembang won the trust vote during the ANFA Extraordinary Congress in Hetauda on Thursday.
Of a total of 53 votes cast at the 87-member strong Congress, 52 votes were against the no-confidence motion, while one was deemed invalid. As many as 34 members of the ANFA did not participate in the voting.
A group of 49 dissatisfied members of ANFA, including former president Karma Tsering Sherpa, former general secretary Indraman Tuladhar, high ranking officials of A, B and C division clubs and member district associations, had filed the no confidence motion in September 11 demanding Nembang and general secretary Kiran Rai be sacked.
The aggrieved party, who had demanded the Extraordinary Congress be called within a month, have accused Nembang and Rai of seriously violating the ANFA statute multiple times.
Nembang was elected the football governing body’s president on June 21 last year.
