Nepal women complete 2–0 clean sweep over Malaysia

Nepal women’s cricket team completed a 2–0 series sweep over Malaysia after a seven-wicket win in the second Twenty20 International at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Openers led the chase as Nepal overhauled a target of 83 in 16 overs, anchored by an unbeaten 39 from Samanjhana Khadka. She faced 37 balls and hit three boundaries, sharing an unbroken 42-run stand for the fourth wicket with Kavita Kunwar.
Kunwar remained not out on 19 off 20 balls, striking one four. Nepal lost opener Kavita Joshi for a duck on the first ball she faced. Vice-captain Puja Mahato was dismissed for eight off 14 deliveries, while Sony Pakhrin scored 12.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat, Malaysia were restricted to 82 for nine in 20 overs. Ainna Hamizah Hashim top-scored with 17, while Dhanusri Muhunan made 15 and Nur Arianna Natsya remained unbeaten on 13. Malaysia’s innings included only five boundaries.
For Nepal, Kunwar, Riya Sharma and Rubina Chhetry took two wickets each. Kunwar bowled four overs with two maidens, conceding 10 runs, while Sharma gave away 14 runs in her four overs with one maiden. Chhetry conceded five runs in two overs. Puja Mahato and Sita Rana Magar took one wicket each.
Nepal had also won the first T20I by two wickets earlier in the series. Both teams are preparing for the upcoming Asian Games qualifying matches and the ACC Premier Cup.
