Ravi Bopara struck his second consecutive half-century as Chitwan Rhinos posted 142–7 against Lumbini Lions in their Nepal Premier League (NPL) clash at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday.
Sent in to bat, Chitwan built their innings around Bopara’s composed 66 off 55 balls, which included four fours and three sixes. He had scored 52 against Karnali Yaks in the previous match, continuing his strong run of form.
Captain Kushal Malla added 21, while Saif Zaib and Dev Khanal contributed 15 runs each. Opener Deepak Bohora made 10.
Lumbini’s bowlers kept Chitwan in check for most of the innings.
Namibian pacer Ruben Trumpelmann led the attack with figures of 3–23 from his four overs. Young spinner Abhishek Gautam impressed with 2–15 from three overs, while Gulbadin Naib also picked up two wickets for 33 runs.
Chitwan’s total leaves Lumbini with a target of 143 runs to chase for victory.
