Shivnarine Chanderpaul, one of the best cricketers produced by the Caribbean, landed in Kathmandu on Monday to take charge of Janakpur Bolts, the defending champion, in the second season of the Nepal Premier League.
“I watched the series where Nepal defeated the West Indies in September,” Chanderpaul said in a press meet on Monday. “An Associate team defeating the West Indies suggests that Nepal has much promise in cricket.”
According to the ICC Hall of Famer, he is eager to work with Janakpur Bolts and help them defend their title. Chanderpaul, who represented the West Indies in 164 Tests and 268 ODIs, has coaching experience with the West Indies U19, Jamaica Tallawahs, and the United States’ senior and U19 women teams.
