Nepal have set a 272-run target for the United States in their third match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series being held in Dubai.
After losing the toss, Nepal were invited to bat first and posted 271 runs in 49.5 overs before being bowled out. Dipendra Singh Airee led the innings with a composed 75 runs, while Karan KC contributed 49, Kushal Bhurtel 47, Bhim Sharki 43, and captain Rohit Paudel 36.
However, openers Aasif Sheikh and Aarif Sheikh, along with Gulshan Jha, failed to reach double figures. Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Lalit Rajbanshi added 1, 4, and 1 runs respectively.
Nepal, who lost their previous two matches—the first to the USA and the second to the UAE—made one change for Saturday’s fixture, bringing in Nandan Yadav in place of Sompal Kami.
The USA, who have won both of their earlier games in the series, will need 272 runs to secure their third straight victory.
