Post Report
Kathmandu Gorkhas have revealed Milind Kumar as their new foreign signing for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League.
The Gorkhas revealed Kumar, the all-rounder from the USA, on Thursday. Kumar, who is in his mid 30s, has been an important part of the USA national team.
He has represented the USA across 21 T20Is, scoring 322 runs in 17 innings. Similarly, in 20 ODIs for the USA, Kumar has 823 runs in 19 innings.
Further, Kumar has shown that he is in a good form during the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 tri-series comprising Nepal and the UAE. He stayed not out at 70 off 50 against the Rhinos on October 26, and departed after contributing 71 off 81 against the UAE on Tuesday.
“Milind has been playing his role for the USA team with great success, showing consistency and maturity with the bat,” Kathmandu Gorkhas’ head coach Monty Desai said. “His ability to adapt to different situations and perform under pressure stands out. We’re excited to have him as part of the Kathmandu Gorkhas family.”
Kathmandu Gorkhas have ensured three foreign players to their squad. They had signed Ricardo Vasconcelos as their first overseas player on October 27, and revealed that they had retained Gerhard Erasmus, the Namibian skipper, on Wednesday.
Erasmus, who is an all rounder, had bagged 11 wickets and scored 1o8 runs for the team during the inaugural NPL last year.
