President Ramchandra Paudel on Monday lauded the rising enthusiasm for cricket in Nepal and commended the dedication of Nepali players, saying their recent success is a result of their commitment and hard work.
Congratulating the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup champions at the Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office, President Paudel said Nepal’s title win against Singapore in the final enhanced the country’s image and brought honour to all Nepalis.
Nepal defeated Singapore by two wickets in Saturday’s final to clinch the title. The team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Nepal had previously won the tournament in 2017, 2019 and 2023.

Speaking to the media at Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday upon their return, Captain Bipin Prasad Sharma expressed his delight over winning the title without losing a single match. He said past match experience had helped the players perform better.
Coach Dipendra Bahadur Chanda said the team had detailed information about their opponents and approached every match equally. While appreciating the team’s performance, Chanda noted that Nepal still needs to improve its batting.
