Nepal Under-16 posted a 421-run target against Indonesia in the ACC Men’s U16 East Zone Cup 2025 at Selangor Turf Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Sunday.
After being put in to bat, Nepal were off to a flying start with Parimarjan Yadav smashing 71 off just 28 balls, including four fours and eight sixes, during a 130-run opening stand with Prashiddha Jaishi in under 10 overs.
Jaishi went on to anchor the innings with a brilliant 132 off 114 balls, hitting 15 fours and a six. He was involved in a 148-run third-wicket stand with Raunak Srivastav, who made 88 off 71 balls.
Although Nepal lost quick wickets after Jaishi and Srivastav’s dismissals, middle-order batters kept the scoreboard ticking. Joy Thapa played a brisk knock of 57 off 41 deliveries, while Sugam Budhathoki added 39 not out. Roshan Shahi remained unbeaten on 10 as Nepal finished strongly, scoring 33 runs in the last 22 balls.
For Indonesia, I Ketut Darma Putra P was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 29 in four overs. Kavin Neeraj Chadda, Mahendra Aji Yuda Pratama, and Rayhan Riza Athaila K took one wicket each, but the rest of the bowlers struggled with line and economy.
Nepal had registered their second win in the ongoing tournament on Tuesday by defeating Japan by nine wickets. Nepal will now end their group-stage fixtures facing Bhutan on July 1.
