The 2025 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier opener between Nepal and Hong Kong was abandoned on Friday.
Overnight showers left the outfield unfit for play at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok, and the match was called off without the toss taking place.
Both teams were awarded one point each.
The qualifier features nine teams divided into three groups. Nepal and Hong Kong are in Group C alongside Bahrain.
Nepal’s second group game is against Bahrain on May 10.
On the other hand, host Thailand defeated Kuwait by eight wickets, and the UAE defeated Malaysia by nine wickets in other games of the day.
The UAE vs Malaysia took place at the same ground, which was still wet at the time of Nepal vs Hong Kong.
