The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Wednesday revealed the list of men’s and women’s cricketers under its annual contract for 2025.

As per the contract list, male players have been divided into five categories—Grade A to D and Emerging—while there is no ‘Emerging’ category for females.

Likewise, while male cricketers in Grades A, B, C and D will receive Rs100,000, Rs70,000, Rs55,000 and Rs35,000 monthly, female cricketers will get Rs50,000, Rs35,000, Rs25,000 and Rs20,000, respectively. Emerging male cricketers will receive Rs25,000.

Similarly, there have been some ups and downs for cricketers in the grading list. For instance, Kushal Bhurtel, who was promoted to Grade A last year, could not retain his grade and got demoted to B.

There are a total of 33 male cricketers who will be receiving salaries through CAN. Of them, five players each are in Grades A and B, four in Grade C, 12 in Grade D and seven in Emerging.

Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, World’s No.2 T2oI all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami and Aasif Sheikh are in Grade A while Karan KC, Bhurtel, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi and Anil Kumar Sah make up Grade B.

Kushal Malla got demoted to Grade C and joins Aarif Sheikh, Sundeep Jora and Bhim Sharki. Teenagers Arjun Gharti, Hemant Dhami, Dipesh Kandel, Rupesh Singh, Arjun Kumal, Subh Kansakar and Santosh Yadav are in the Emerging category.

On the other hand, in women’s cricket, national women’s team skipper Indu Barma, teenage sensation Puja Mahato and experienced duo, Rubina Chhetri and Sita Rana Magar, will receive services under Grade A.

Meanwhile, Kabita Joshi is alone in Grade B, and Kabita Kunwar and Samjhana Khadka are in Grade C. Twelve other female cricketers have been placed in Grade D.
