Nepal have posted a lowly 74-run target against Scotland in their second match of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup played at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval, Bangi, Malaysia, on Monday.
Opting to bat first, Nepal’s batters struggled to build momentum as Scotland’s bowlers kept them under pressure. Captain Puja Mahato top-scored with 27 runs off 43 balls, hitting three boundaries, while Sabitri Dhami contributed 10 off 11 balls. No other batter reached double figures.
Nepal’s innings ended in the 19th over with Riya Sharma’s dismissal, as Scotland’s disciplined bowling attack dominated. Extras were the second-highest contributor to Nepal’s total, with 14 runs.
Scotland’s Maisie Maceira was the pick of the bowlers, taking five wickets for 15 runs in 3.5 overs. Ammy Baldie and Nayma Sheikh claimed two wickets each, while Kirsty McColl picked one.
On Saturday, Nepal made a disastrous debut in the World Cup as they lost to Bangladesh by five wickets in their Group D match.
