CAN bids farewell to U-19 women’s cricket team

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Friday bade farewell to the U-19 women’s cricket team ahead of their participation in the Women’s U-19 World Cup.
Youth and Sports Minister Teju Lal Chaudhary, CAN Vice-President Roshan Singh, and Secretary Paras Khadka, among others, extended their best wishes to the team during the event.
The team will depart for Malaysia on Saturday afternoon.
CAN had earlier announced the 15-member squad for the U-19 World Cup, with Pooja Mahato named the captain.
Other players in the squad include Vice-Captain Sony Pakhrin, Sanaa Pravin, Jyotsnika Marasini, Kusum Godar, Savitra Dhami, Krishma Gurung, Riya Sharma, Simana KC, Sneha Mahara, Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Rachana Chaudhary, Trishna BK, Anu Kadayat, and Alisa Kumari Yadav.
Nepal secured a spot in the World Cup by winning the U-19 Asia Qualifiers last month. The U-19 World Cup will take place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, with 16 teams participating.
Nepal will kick off the campaign with a match against Bangladesh on January 18.
