Sudurpaschim Royals have been set a 140-run target by Janakpur Royals in the qualifier match of the Nepal Premier League at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Janakpur, opting to bat first after winning the toss, posted 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. James Neesham was the standout performer for Janakpur, scoring a brisk 44 off 23 balls, including three fours and three sixes, before being bowled by Scott Kuggeleijn. Subash Khakurel added 26 runs but was run out.

Lahiru Milantha (12), Aashif Sheikh (11), and Harsh Thaker (12) chipped in with small contributions but failed to build substantial partnerships.

For Sudurpaschim, Dipendra Singh Airee shone with the ball, claiming three wickets. Saif Zaib added two to his tally, while Kuggeleijn and Abinash Bohara took one wicket each.

The winner of this match will secure a direct berth in the final, while the losing side will face Karnali Yaks in the second qualifier for another chance to reach the final.
