Airee to lead Nepal T20Is, Paudel retains ODI captaincy

Nepal will field separate captains in the upcoming Twenty20 Internationals and One Day Internationals, the Cricket Association of Nepal said on Friday.
Dipendra Singh Airee has been named T20I captain, while Rohit Paudel will continue to lead the ODI side for the international assignments.
Under Airee, Nepal are set to play two T20Is against the UAE on Monday and Tuesday. Paudel will lead the team in the ICC World Cup League 2 series involving the UAE and Oman.
Paudel has not been included in the T20I squad, while Airee will serve as vice-captain in the ODI format.
The T20I squad includes Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sundeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmad, Gulshan Jha, Lokesh Bam, Nandan Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arjun Saud, Hemant Dhami, Shahab Alam and Sher Malla. Pratish GC, Narayan Joshi and Rashid Khan are on reserves.
Several players from Nepal’s last T20 World Cup campaign in Mumbai, including Paudel, Aasif Sheikh, Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi, have been left out of the T20I squad.
For the League 2 series, Nepal have included Paudel, Airee, Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki, Aarif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmad, Jha, Sompal Kami, Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi, Binod Bhandari, Nandan Yadav, Arjun Kumal and Karan KC. Hemant Dhami, Sher Malla, Rijan Dhakal, Ishan Pandey and Dev Khanal are on reserves.
The League 2 tri-series featuring the UAE and Oman is scheduled from April 25 to May 10.
