Lumbini Lions in their winless journey set a target of 16 against Chitwan Rhinos in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) encounter at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Chitwan won the toss, elected to field first, restricting the Lumbini to 167 at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Lumbini with a shaky start lost opener Aashutosh Ghiraiya 1[off 7 balls] in and and Arjun Saud 15[off 12 balls]. Rijan Dhakal took two major wickets of Aashutosh Ghiraiya and Unmukt Chand in an over. Lions lost their fourth wicket with Tom Moores bowled out by Rhinos’s captain Kushal Malla.
Lumbini’s batting came into form with an exceptional batting partnership with Lions’ captain Rohit Paudel and Saad Zafar. Paudel made 81 runs off 57 balls while Zafar made 52 for 35 and was run out.
For Rhinos Rijan Dhakal took 3 wickets giving off 29 runs. Kushal Malla and Ranjeet Kumar took a wicket each.
