The Nepal Premier League (NPL) will feature two thrilling encounters on Wednesday. The first match, starting at 9:15 am, sees Karnali Yaks take on Kathmandu Gurkhas, followed by a clash between Biratnagar Kings and Lumbini Lions at 1:15 pm.
The Kathmandu Gurkhas, owned by Kathmandu Sports Development Venture, will rely on marquee player Karan KC, a seasoned member of Nepal’s national cricket team. Supporting him are experienced players like Bhim Sharki, Shahab Alam, and emerging talents such as Dipesh Kandel.
The Gurkhas also boast a formidable line-up of international players, including Namibia’s captain Gerard Erasmus, Netherlands’ Michael Levitt, and England’s Stephen Eskinazi, among others.
On the other side, the Karnali Yaks, backed by Himalayan Builders & Engineers, feature national all-rounder Sompal Kami as their marquee player. Kami, a two-time World Cup participant for Nepal, is joined by rising stars like Gulshan Jha and Dev Khanal. Karnali’s foreign roster includes cricketing icons such as India’s Shikhar Dhawan, Pakistan’s Hussain Talat, and West Indies’ Chadwick Walton.
The afternoon match pits the Biratnagar Kings, led by marquee player Sandeep Lamichhane, against the Lumbini Lions, represented by national batter Rohit Paudel. Both teams will aim to bounce back, especially Biratnagar, who suffered a loss against Sudurpaschim Royals on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s matches saw Chitwan Rhinos defeat the Pokhara Avengers, while the Sudurpaschim Royals triumphed over the Biratnagar Kings.
