UAE set title clash against Nepal
Despite losing to Hong Kong by 69 runs, the UAE enter Nepal Tri-Nation T20I Series final based on run rate.Post Report
Nepal will compete against the United Arab Emirates in the final of the Nepal Tri-Nation T20I Series on Friday.
The hosts got the UAE as their opponents as the UAE entered the final based on run rate despite losing to Hong Kong by 69 runs in a match played on Wednesday.
Both the UAE and Hong Kong won one match each.
At the match played at the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Hong Kong made 213-3 in the stipulated 20 overs after electing to bat first after winning the toss.
Opener Martin Coetzee scored 88 runs off 55 balls, smashing ten hits to the fence and four sixes. Babar Hayat made a quick 60 runs off 20 balls with five fours and five sixes.
Nilansh Keswani, Sanchit Sharma and Akif Raja of the UAE took a wicket apiece.
In the run chase, the UAE managed to get only 143 runs at the loss of five wickets. Khalid Shah top-scored at 35 runs as Nilansh Keswani hit 31 runs.
Ehsan Khan, Ayush Shukla, Nasrulla Rana and Yasim Murtaza of Hong Kong grabbed a wicket each.
Nepal will face the UAE in the final at the TU Cricket Ground on Friday.
