Nepal thump UAE by 42 runs
The Rhinos wrap up UAE Tri-Series with third victory

Nepal registered a 42 runs win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Triangular Series of the ICC World Cup League 2 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Opting to bat first, Nepal posted 229-8 in the stipulated 50 overs and bowled out the hosts for 187 runs in 45 overs to grab their first victory over UAE in League 2 among four games played.
Bhim Sharki cracked a half-century, top-scoring at 70 runs off 99 balls. Sharki smashed seven boundaries, before he was dismissed by Rohan Mustafa in 44.3 overs.
Aarif Sheikh scored an unbeaten 43 runs off 56 balls while Kushal Malla smashed 4 boundaries and two sixes, scoring a run-a-ball 32.
Malla was also sent back to the pavilion by Mustafa in 14.1 overs.
Sandeep Lamichhane scored 27 runs off 40 balls while Gyanendra Malla and Partish GC also managed 11 runs each with the latter remaining unbeaten.
Similarly, Karan KC smashed a boundary and a six in his 11-ball knock, putting 17 runs on the scoreboard.
Nepal’s Sompal Kami dismissed Muhammad Wassim on a duck, bowling out the UAE captain on the second ball.
Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee were the top-wicket takers for the Rhino’s, grabbing three wickets each. Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Aarif Sheikh also managed to take a wicket apiece.
For the hosts, Asif Khan scored an impressive 115-ball 82. The right-handed batter smashed two boundaries and three sixes, before allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee caught and bowled him.
Similarly, Aryan Lakra also scored a half-century in his 78-ball knock, smashing 4 boundaries and a six. Lakra fell on Airee’s lbw trap in 23.4 overs.
The UAE were bowled out for 187 in 45 overs as they lost the last six wickets adding just 41 runs.
Apart from Khan and Lakra, Vriitya Aravind was the only batter who managed to score in double-digits for the hosts. Aravind put up 13-runs off 23 balls.
