Nepal name final squad for Women’s T20I Series
The U-19 leg spinner Hiranmayee Roy has been included in the national squad for the first time by coach Jagat Tamata while veteran Karuna Bhandari has been left out from the national squad under the captaincy of Rubina Chhetri.Sports Bureau
Nepal on Saturday announced a 16-member squad for the five-match Women's Twenty20 International Series against Uganda beginning on Monday at the TU ground in Kirtipur.
The U-19 leg spinner Hiranmayee Roy has been included in the national squad for the first time by coach Jagat Tamata while veteran Karuna Bhandari has been left out from the national squad under the captaincy of Rubina Chhetri.
Apart from Bhandari, Saraswati Chaudhary, Mamta Chaudhary, Suman Khatiwada, Ishwori Bist and Ritu Kanoujiya are among the six players left out from the 22-member squad currently undergoing closed camp training.
This is the first time Nepal’s women’s cricket team are playing an international tournament at home turf since the 13th South Asian Games in 2019. It will also be the first occasion that Nepali women’s team will be playing an international series at home ground.
