The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to retire former captain Paras Khadka's jersey number 77 in recognition of his contribution to the national cricket team.
The announcement meant, no Nepali player would wear jersey no 77 during any official international matches. "Honouring the contribution of Paras Khadka to Nepal Cricket, CAN has decided to withdraw no 77 jersey from use," reads a Facebook post on the official Facebook page of cricket governing body.
All-rounder Khadka had announced his international retirement from cricket on Tuesday. Khadka, who led the national team from 2009 to 2019 as captain, played an influential role in Team Nepal’s elevation from Division 5 in 2010 to One-Day International (ODI) nation in 2018.
