Popular models from Nepal and abroad walked the ramp during a fashion show held at the MMC Conference and Function Centre, Sydney, Australia, on Tuesday.Popular models from Nepal and abroad walked the ramp during a fashion show held at the MMC Conference and Function Centre, Sydney, Australia, on Tuesday. The show was organised by Smart Rhino Group, and was supported by kgarira.com and Global Consultancy and Business Service.
During the show, titled Fashionmandu, models showcased designs by the popular Nepali designer Bishwo Gautam.
“We wanted to present our culture and garments to an international audience,” said designer Gautam. “I think we’ve succeeded in doing so. We are proud to see popular international models walking the ramp wearing Nepali garments.”
Apart from Gautam, the show also featured designs by acclaimed fashion designers such as Jai Ho Instyle, Kyatre Murry, and Amit Baral. And 20 models from 14 different countries around the globe showcased the creations. Among the models were Miss Nepal 2015 Shristi Shrestha, Yanisha Subba, Roji Shreshta, Sara Gautam, Marina Shyamali, Jeena Lim, Kyala Kembar, and Julia Smith.
The chief guest of the event was the chairman of the Non-residential Nepali Association, Shesh Ghale.
The funds collected during the show was handed over to Jiwan Utthan Australia, an Australia-based organisation working to help quake victims and orphans in Nepal.
