The Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast generally cloudy conditions across the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country on Monday, while the Tarai region is expected to remain partly cloudy.

The division said there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Similar conditions may occur in some areas of the Tarai in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

For Monday night, the division said the hilly and Himalayan regions, including Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, will remain generally cloudy. The remaining Tarai areas are likely to stay partly cloudy.

“Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is possible at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at one or two places in the Himalayan region of Lumbini Province,” the division said.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds and local winds, along with a low-pressure system located near the eastern part of the country.
