Sohra Shraddha rituals begin

The sixteen-day ritual of Sohra Shraddha, a traditional ceremony performed in memory of deceased ancestors, begins today.
This ritual is observed until the new moon, known as Asoj Krishna Aunsi, starting on the first day of the dark fortnight of Asoj.
During this period, families honour their ancestors by performing various rites such as tarpan (offering water), sidadan (offering food), and pindadan (offering rice balls).
