The installation of seats at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur has been expedited, as efforts to upgrade the venue to international standards continue.
Construction began in March with the dual aim of building a parapet capable of accommodating 10,000 spectators and equipping the stadium with six floodlights to facilitate night matches.

According to Sunil Shah, an engineer at BG Construction—the firm contracted for the parapet—the seats are being installed in five colours: yellow, white, grey, green and orange, creating a visually appealing mosaic across the stands.
The parapet construction is being undertaken by a joint venture of BKOI, KCDC and BG Construction (JV), while floodlight installation has been entrusted to the Vision Ishwari JV.
Both parties signed contracts with the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office on March 3 and March 6, respectively.
The government has allocated Rs492.5 million for the seating infrastructure and Rs473.7 million for the floodlights.
Once completed, the renovation is expected to enhance the country’s major cricketing infrastructure significantly, positioning the ground as a premier venue for international fixtures and major domestic tournaments.
