Maghe Sankranti celebrations in pictures

People belonging to different communities, including Magar and Tharu, celebrated Maghe Sankranti on Tuesday.
Also called Makar Sankranti, the festival falls on the first day of the month of Magh as per the Bikram Sambat Nepali calendar and is observed across the country.
Magar and Tharu groups organised various programmes and rallies showcasing their culture and dances in Kathmandu.
People from the Tharu community gathered at Basantapur, where participants showcased traditional dances and cultural processions before heading to Tundikhel.
The Magar community residing in the Kathmandu Valley marked Maghe Sankranti with a special celebration. Dressed in traditional Magar attire, they assembled at Bhrikutimandap and proceeded to Tundikhel, showcasing vibrant processions.
