Public personalities, commoners pay final tribute to late singer and actor Robin Tamang

People from various walks of life including Cabinet ministers, political leaders and other public personalities, among other fans, paid their final tributes to the late singer and actor Robin Tamang.
Tamang’s body has been kept on the premises of the Bhagwati Bahal-based Nepal Academy of Music and Drama for the public to pay final tributes.
Tamang passed away on Tuesday at his residence in Budhanilkantha, according to his family. He was 60.
Tamang was born in Singapore and was the youngest of five siblings. His father was an officer in the British Army. He had come to Nepal in 1996, and since then he had been doing music.
Tamang, the frontman of the Nepali rock band ‘Robin and the New Revolution’, had established himself as a prominent musician with his lively presence, both on stage and on the silver screen.
Adored mostly by the younger generation, Tamang’s ‘Dam Maro Dam,’ ‘Keta Keti,’ and ‘Bhool Ma Bhulyo’ are among his best hits over the years.
Tamang starred as ‘Chewang’ in the 2013 movie ‘Chhadke’ which gave him a new identity as an actor. Since then Tamang has already acted in more than half a dozen Nepali feature films including Chiso Astray, Mukuta, Naka and Chhadke-2.
