Motorcyclists leaned into sharp corners and accelerated down short straights as they competed in the second round of the Nepal Road Racing Championship at Chandeshwori Driving School in Banepa on Saturday.
Riders in the novice and national categories completed 20 laps on a temporary circuit laid out within the driving school grounds.
Organised by Motor Sports Nepal and the Nepal Automobiles’ Association, the championship is part of an annual racing series that brings together the country's leading riders alongside emerging talent to test their speed, racecraft and cornering skills.
All competitors race on identical Yamaha R15 motorcycles, ensuring that results are determined by rider ability rather than mechanical advantage. Organisers say the championship has helped promote professional motorcycle racing in Nepal while providing a safer alternative to illegal street racing and a platform for developing local talent.
