International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples marked with fanfare

Various indigenous communities of Nepal marked the 28th International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples by organising various programmes on Tuesday.
An official programme was organised at the Academy Hall in Kamaladi in the Capital in the coordination of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was also present at the programme.
People from various indigenous communities including Tamang, Newar, Gurung, Tharu, Rai, Limbu, Sherpa among others had also organised a cultural rally at Bhrikutimandap.
The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated on August 9 every year.
