Revellers celebrate Holi in Kathmandu
While every year the festival is celebrated with great fervour, this year’s revelry has been affected by the fear of the Covid-19 outbreak.Post Report
Holi, the festival of colours, is being celebrated in Kathmandu Valley and hilly parts of the country today.
Revellers celebrate the festival by smearing colours on each other and throwing water-filled balloons at each other.

While every year the festival is celebrated with great fervour, this year’s revelry has been comparatively a sombre affair mostly because of Covid-19 outbreak across the world. The Kathmandu District Administration Office had urged the public to refrain from gathering in large groups fearing the outbreak.
The Capital’s streets, which used to be filled with revellers on this day, are almost empty barring some small groups joined in the celebrations by foreign tourists in some parts of the Kathmandu Valley.
