Woman dies in a fire in Bhaktapur
A fire broke out in the house of one Atmaram KC of Rai Tole in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, killing his 25-year-old daughter, who was suffering from paralysis and was intellectually disabled.Post Report
A woman died in a fire that broke out in a house in Rai Tole in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in Bhaktapur district on Wednesday.
According to the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, a fire broke out at around 7:45am in the three-storey house of one Atmaram KC that claimed the life of his 25-year-old daughter.
The traditional-styled house was constructed using bricks and wood.
DSP Raju Pandey of the police range said that the victim, who was suffering from paralysis and was intellectually disabled, died of burn injuries in the incident.
A team of firefighters with two fire trucks from Bhaktapur, personnel from the Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force; and locals had brought the inferno under control around 9am.
Meanwhile, KC’s 14-year-old daughter also sustained injuries during the fire. She was taken to Korean Hospital and has been discharged after receiving first-aid treatment.
Police informed that the extent of property damage caused by the fire is yet to be ascertained and investigation is underway into the incident.
