Travellers and commuters in Kathmandu valley have been at the receiving end as vehicles remained off the road for large parts as part of security preparations for BIMSTEC summit.

Government has implemented odd-even number plate rule for three days of the summit. But vehicles and peoples have been completely barred from the road as VVIPs arrived and moved towards their destinations for the summit disrupting daily lives of common people.

Because of the rule, which came in force from Wednesday, many commuters could be seen out on the streets, either waiting to catch public vehicles or walking to their destinations.

People travelling to and from the Tribhuvan International Airport, both domestic and international terminals, were among the most affected. The lead route designated for VIPs from the airport to Soaltee Mode also affected the lives of many Kathmandu residents.
