Police have arrested a woman on the charge of defrauding individuals by promising lucrative jobs in Bulgaria.
The suspect, identified as Kamala Kumari KC, a permanent resident of ward 1 in Biruwa Rural Municipality, Syangja, and currently residing in Bhaktapur, allegedly lured victims with the promise of overseas employment and took Rs675,000 before going contactless, according to police.
Based on complaints filed by the victims, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, apprehended her from Balkot, Bhaktapur.
She has been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action, police said.
