Two people died and three others were injured after a landslide buried a house in Purchaudi Municipality-2 of Baitadi district on Sunday night.

According to Baitadi police, the deceased are a 25-year-old woman and her five-year-old son.

The woman’s in-laws–a 45-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man–and her neighbour, a 60-year-old woman, were injured in the mudslide, said Police Inspector Kamal Prasad Chaudhary.

Preparations are underway to rescue the injured with the help of locals and police and take them to Gokuleshwar Hospital for treatment.
