A boy has gone missing after he fell into the Mahakali river while using a cable crossing in Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula on Thursday.
According to rural municipality chairman Binod Singh Kunwar, a 10-year-old boy, a resident of Khalnagar settlement of the rural municipality, has been missing in the river after falling off a tuin in Dokat village.
Although the incident occurred on Thursday, it came to light only on Saturday.
Kunwar informed that the boy was following his mother, who had gone to the Indian side to cut dried plant stalks.
Meanwhile, the police said that they are yet to confirm the details of the incident.
The District Police Office informed that it has sent a team of police from the Sunsera Police Post to the house of the missing child after receiving multiple phone calls over the incident.
