Nepali taekwondo referees, coach feted by Korean Embassy

Nepali Embassy in South Korea on Tuesday felicitated Nepali taekwondo referees and judges in Seoul.
Jyoti Pyakurel Bhandari, Nepal's ambassador for South Korea, feted referees Raju Chhetri and Ashok Khadka along with coach Bhajindra Bahadur Chhetri. The trio were feted for their outstanding contributions in elevating Nepal's reputation on the international stage as remarkable players, referees, and coaches.
Raju Chhetri and Khadka had officiated Kimunyong Cup International Open Taekwondo Championships 2023 in Muju, South Korea, held from August 2 to 6. The event recognised as G1 was organised by World Taekwondo.
Coach Bhajindra Chhetri, who has been residing in Korea for almost a decade, has been promoting Nepali taekwondo abroad. Referee Raju Chhetri is also the former president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association Korea chapter. He is also the gold medalist of the G2 Korean Open International Taekwondo Championships in 2008.
Referee Khadka had been to Korea to officiate games of the Championships.
