At least 45 houses in Bardaghat of Nawalparasi West have been inundated following heavy rainfall that began on Tuesday night.
According to local resident Devidatta Paudel, the settlement located north of the London Bridge section along the highway in ward 10 of Bardaghat Municipality was submerged after rainwater accumulated due to poor drainage.
Though the area remains waterlogged, no casualties or major damage have been reported. Paudel said locals have moved their belongings and livestock to safer places.
Flooding has become a recurring issue as rainwater from the northern side has no outlet. According to local data, in the last 12 hours, Bardaghat recorded 143.4 mm of rainfall, while Parasi received 100.2 mm.
