A woman was murdered by attacking reportedly with a sharp object at Bardiya last night.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Mina Tharu of Barbardiya Municipality Ward 5.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Tulsiram Aryal, Tharu succumbed to her injury while undergoing treatment at City Hospital, Jayanagar.

The absconding suspect Shiva Chaudhary, 40, of Barbardiya Ward 11 has been arrested by the police.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
