Three arrested for discharging firearms in Rupandehi

Three persons have been arrested after firearms were discharged in the air at the Nepal-India border in Marchawar of Rupandehi district on Thursday.
According to the police, the gunshots were fired by a group of smugglers in Kotahimai-3 at around 7pm.
District Police Office, Rupandehi said that one Indian national and two Nepali men have been arrested in connection to the incident.
A bullet shell was found at the incident site, informed Shyamu Aryal, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi.
Two motorcycles, one with Indian and the other with Nepali registrations, have also been seized.
Aryal said that the gunshots could have been fired to scare-off the security personnel stationed to monitor the border area.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, informed Aryal.
