Export resumed through the Tatopani border point, a major customs point along the Nepal-China border, on Monday.
Export from Nepal had come to a grinding halt for the past seven years following the 2015 earthquake.
A total of three containers carrying wicker stools and handicrafts entered China.
According to Ramesh Neupane, Sindhupalchok chief district officer, export resumed in the presence of border security personnel of China and Nepal at the Miteri bridge.
Nepal used to export 182 types of goods through the border point before it was closed due to the earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.
“Currently, three containers have crossed the Miteri bridge to reach Khasa and Lhasa areas of China. Containers are moving in both directions,” said Neupane.
