Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal picks office-bearers

Two and half months after its general convention, the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal picked office-bearers and central committee members.
Chairman Upendra Yadav was given the mandate to select the party’s leadership without holding an election after the general convention was concluded without electing office bearers following the registration of candidacies for the positions.
Chairman Yadav on Monday appointed a 30-member central executive committee and 27 central members and named the members of the central discipline commission, central audit commission, and central election commission.
JSP-Nepal announced its central members and nine-member central executive committee after a month of the convention, but it struggled to pick office bearers.
Rakam Chemjong has been appointed as co-chairman, while Raj Kishor Yadav, Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Govinda Chaudhary, Shivalal Thapa Magar, and Bidyut Bajracharya have been named vice-chairmen.
The party has named Lalbabu Raut and Ram Kumar Sharma as general secretaries, while Manish Kumar Suman has been given the role of spokesperson. Prakash Adhikari, Deepak Karki, and Rekha Yadav have been appointed deputy general secretaries.
The party has appointed seven secretaries: Leela Sitaula, Shailendra Sah, Suni Lama, Raj Kumar Rai, Suresh Mandal, Lakpa Sherpa, and Kamruddin Rai. Surita Kumari Sah has been appointed as the treasurer.
The newly appointed 30-member central executive committee includes ten members. The members of the central discipline commission, central audit commission, and central election commission have also been selected.
