Samikchya Baskota was elected president of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party unopposed through the first general convention on Saturday.
She was the incumbent chief of the party since then party president Rabindra Mishra quit the organisation to join the right-wing Rastriya Prajatantra Party last year.
Ranju Darshana was elected general secretary, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, party’s spokesperson, told the Post.
Similarly, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, Milan Pandey and Bimala Adhikari were elected vice presidents.
The convention elected Pabitra Thapa, Bimal Tamang and Samundra KC as secretaries and Damodar Nepal as treasurer.
The party which was formed by merging Bibeksheel Party and Sajha Party has undergone several ups and downs as it faced disputes and divisions repeatedly in the past.
As an attempt to revive the organisation, leaders from various factions have again joined hands and organised the convention. They have claimed to make a strong comeback under the new leadership.
There will be a 51-member central working committee, including members from the seven provinces, elected based on the principle of inclusion.
