All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Thursday postponed its election indefinitely, which was scheduled to take place in Jhapa on Friday.
ANFA’s Election Committee announced the postponement through a press statement.
“A letter stating that the National Sports Council (NSC) suspended ANFA for three months, effective from March 25, was received by this Election Committee through the ANFA Secretariat on March 26. Therefore, the election programme scheduled for March 27 has been postponed until further notice,” read the statement.
ANFA has come under controversy after announcing early elections. Earlier on Wednesday, the NSC, the sports regulatory body of Nepal, suspended ANFA for three months, accusing it of defying its directive.
