Barbara Foundation awards investigative journalism fellowship to four journalists

The Barbara Foundation has awarded the 2023 'Barbara Investigative Journalism Fellowship' to four Nepali journalists, supporting their investigative work on various pressing issues in the country.
Foundation President Dr Sanduk Ruit and Secretary Mohna Ansari handed over the fellowships at a ceremony held on Tuesday, alongside board members of the foundation.
According to the foundation, the fellowship has been awarded to Deepa Dahal for her investigation into Nepal's health insurance programmes, Krishna Gyawali for his work on political interference and malpractices within the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Similarly, Mohan Mainali and Basanta Pratap Singh have been awarded for reporting on the effects of climate change in the Tamor River region and the malnutrition crisis in the Karnali region, respectively.
Each journalist will receive Rs250,000 as part of the fellowship to support their reporting projects.
