Hyena found dead on riverbank

A headless carcass of a hyena was found on the bank of the Sharada River in ward 1 of Sharada Municipality on Sunday.
The government and the International Union for Conservation of Nature have listed hyena as an endangered species.
According to Jitendra Mahat, head of the Division Forest Office, Salyan, the hyena, aged about eight years, has been sent for a post-mortem. Further investigation is going on to find out whether the animal died of natural causes or was killed, said Mahat.
