British Ambassador Fenn calls on Defence Minister Khadka
Khadka expresses his belief that relations between the two countries will reach newer heights during Fenn’s tenure in Nepal.Post Report
British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka on Thursday and discussed Nepal-United Kingdom ties.
Prakash Paudel, joint secretary and spokesperson of the defence ministry, said they discussed further promoting the bilateral interests by strengthening diplomatic relations.
While welcoming the newly appointed British ambassador, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Khadka said Nepal and the UK share a close and cordial relationship not only at the government level but also at the people’s level.
Deputy Prime Minister Khadka expressed his belief the relations between the two countries will reach newer heights during Fenn’s tenure in Nepal.
He further expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for providing assistance in the economic and social development of Nepal and added that the areas of cooperation between the two countries will expand further in the future.
During the courtesy calls, issues such as climate change and the exchange of cooperation between the armies of the two countries were also discussed.
Ambassador Fenn said the relations between the two countries have reached a new height. Nepal and the UK celebrated the bicentennial of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2018.
Ambassador Fenn said the British government is always ready to support the economic and social development of Nepal.
